The
International Staff Songsters were reformed after a break of
52 years with an inauguration concert at the Fairfield
Halls, Croydon on 8th March 1980 under the guidance of Major
Norman Bearcroft. He then led the band for 10 years.
This recording has been given to me by Kathleen Bearcroft
and was in Norman's personal collection. I am not sure if
any commercial recordings of this event exist or not.
The recording came with no information other than that
"Norman wanted to have the first
word sung by the ISS 'Jesus' by Jacqui Proctor.
